I NIGHT CLUB DI TUTTA LA TURCHIA SI STANNO MOBILITANDO PER AIUTARE NEI SOCCORSI AL TERREMOTO.
Una serie di terremoti devastanti ha colpito lunedì il confine tra Turchia e Siria, causando almeno 11.000 morti e 80.000 feriti. Mentre le persone rimangono intrappolate nelle macerie e sono costrette a fuggire dalle loro case, gli effetti del disastro rimangono poco chiari.
I clubi e gli spazi per eventi in Turchia sono stati tra i primi a intervenire prontamente per garantire l'impegno di offrire aiuto alle persone colpite dai due devastanti terremoti.
I club di Istanbul Klein Phönix, Klein Harbiye, RX Istanbul e MiniMuzikhol e il DatDat di Smirne hanno lanciato campagne per raccogliere generi di prima necessità per la popolazione delle 10 province colpite. IN PRIMAVERA' USCIRA UN NUOVO DOCUMENTARIO SU DONNA SUMMER.
Intitolato Love To Love You, il documentario in uscita per la HBO è stato co-diretto dal vincitore dell' Oscar Roger Ross Williams e dalla figlia di Donna Summer, Brooklyn Sudano.
Composto da filmati di repertorio e clip mai viste prima, il documentario è descritto dalla HBO come un "ritratto profondamente personale di Summer dentro e fuori dal palcoscenico".
Alcune parti del film includono fotografie d'archivio e video girati dalla stessa Summer, che esplorano la sua passione per la scrittura di canzoni e la pittura.
La HBO descrive inoltre il film in uscita come "plasmato dalle riflessioni di Summer stessa, dai ricordi di parenti, amici e colleghi e riempito dai suoni delle sue canzoni."
Il documentario Love to Love You sarà disponibile in streaming a maggio su HBO e HBO Max e sarà presentato in anteprima al Festival internazionale del cinema di Berlino a marzo.
FATIMA AL QADIRI TORNA SU HYPERDUB CON UN NUOVO EP.
In uscita il 10 marzo, Gumar nasce dalla collaborazione con un artista kuwaitiano, anch'egli chiamato Gumar.
Partendo dai temi del suo ultimo album, Medieval Femme, l'imminente pubblicazione di Fatima Al Qadiri la vede in coppia con il cantante kuwaitiano Gumar. L'EP - intitolato anch'esso Gumar, che in arabo significa "luna" - è un omaggio all'influenza del canto di lamentazione con cui sia Fatima che Gumar sono cresciute e in cui, da adolescente, Gumar si è formata.
In queste quattro brevi canzoni, Fatima fornisce un contrappunto minimale all'elegante voce di Gumar, una coalescenza che si integra con forza e si estende con profondità cosmica. Con un tono serio e luttuoso, il disco parla dell'amore non corrisposto, uno dei temi più comuni nella musica araba passata e presente.
La copertina è un'opera originale dell'artista kuwaitiano Khalid al Gharaballi, amico e collaboratore di lunga data di Fatima.

In uscita il mese prossimo, Pearls Don't Lay On The Shore comprende 14 brani sperimentali che rappresentano una svolta per il veterano britannico. Si tratta della sua terza collaborazione con l'etichetta, gestita dal DJ e cofondatore di BLITZ Club David Muallem.

NIGHTCLUBS ACROSS TURKEY MOBILISE TO HELP WITH EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
A series of devastating earthquakes struck the border between Turkey and Syria on Monday, leaving at least 11,000 dead and 80,000 injured. As people remain trapped in the rubble and forced to flee their homes, the impact of the disaster remains unclear.
Clubs and venues in Turkey were among the first to take swift action to ensure those affected by the two devastating earthquakes were offered help.
Istanbul clubs Klein Phönix, Klein Harbiye, RX Istanbul and MiniMuzikhol, as well as Izmir's DatDat, launched campaigns to collect basic necessities for people in the 10 provinces affected. The parent company of the Istanbul venue complex, the Zorlu Performing Arts Centre, which has hosted Sónar Istanbul since its inaugural edition, also announced that it had sent its search and rescue teams to the areas most in need.
The main relief items listed by the Turkish government's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) include stoves, blankets, pillows, sheets, food parcels, dry food, hygiene kits, clean clothes, clean baby clothes, baby food, sleeping bags, power banks, scarves, hats and gloves.

A NEW DOCUMENTARY ABOUT DONNA SUMMER WILL BE RELEASED THIS SPRING.
Titled Love To Love You, the upcoming HBO documentary was co-directed by Academy Award winner Roger Ross Williams and Donna Summer's daughter, Brooklyn Sudano.
Featuring archival footage and never-before-seen clips, the documentary is described by HBO as a "deeply personal portrait of Summer on and off the stage".
Parts of the film include archival photos and videos shot by Summer herself, exploring her passion for songwriting and painting.
HBO describes the upcoming film as "shaped by Summer's own reflections, the memories of family, friends and colleagues, and filled with the sounds of her songs.
The documentary Love to Love You will be available to stream on HBO and HBO Max in May and will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in March.
FATIMA AL QADIRI RETURNS TO HYPERDUB WITH A NEW EP.
Due for release on 10 March, Gumar is a collaboration with a Kuwaiti artist also known as Gumar.
Building on the themes of her last album, Medieval Femme, Fatima Al Qadiri's forthcoming release sees her paired with Kuwaiti singer Gumar. The EP - also titled Gumar, which means 'moon' in Arabic - is a tribute to the influence of the lamentation song that both Fatima and Gumar grew up with and in which, as a teenager, Gumar was formed.
In these four short songs, Fatima provides a minimalist counterpoint to Gumar's elegant voice, a coalescence that integrates powerfully and extends with cosmic depth. With a serious and mournful tone, the album is about unrequited love, one of the most common themes in Arabic music past and present.
The cover artwork is an original work by Kuwaiti artist Khalid al Gharaballi, Fatima's long-time friend and collaborator.

Due out next month, Pearls Don't Lay On The Shore features 14 experimental tracks that mark a breakthrough for the veteran British producer. It is his third collaboration with the label, which is run by DJ and BLITZ Club co-founder David Muallem.
