Frum, nome d'arte di Jenný Jónsdóttir Kragesteen, è un progetto che parla di musica, film ed espressività corporea. L'artista danese ha conquistato da subito il suo paese d'origine, le Isole Faroe, con il suo primo brano pubblicato nel 2016 e ha rapidamente attirato un notevole interesse internazionale, riuscendo ad esibirsi in Cina e a partecipare allo SPOT Festival in Danimarca nonché al Reeperbahn Festival in Germania, dove è stata nominata per il rinomato Anchor Award.
Il suo album di debutto, "For The Blue Sky", è uscito il 23 Settembre del 2022. Un disco seducente, visionario e malinconico. Nei testi appaiono i riflessi dei suoi studi filosofici: concetti di amore, accettazione, speranza e controllo di spazi incomprensibili. L'umiltà di questi pensieri aggiunge una dimensione poetica, profonda, pronta ad accogliere gli alti e bassi della vita quotidiana, affinché si afferri, il prima possibile, il senso della propria esistenza.

Ciao e benvenuta su T-Mag. Vorrei partire da: "For The Blue sky", il titolo del tuo nuovo album.
Esistono limiti nella tua musica o pensi che questa debba fluire naturalmente verso il cielo infinito?
Credo che non ci siano limiti nella mia musica, sono sempre pronta ad esplorare, provare cose nuove e fluire verso il cielo infinito.
"Universo", cosa significa per te questa parola dalle mille interpretazioni e quanto di questo c'è nei tuoi brani?
Credo che significhi qualcosa di cui tutti facciamo parte, ma di cui non abbiamo il controllo. Uso l'universo nella mia musica e nella vita in generale. Sono molto affascinata da questa grande cosa a cui siamo siamo tutti collegati.
Quanto è importante spingersi oltre e imparare sempre di più sul mondo che ci circonda per comprendere meglio se stessi e la propria armonia? E qual è il tuo rapporto con l'universo interiore?
Penso che sia essenziale per me spingermi oltre e imparare a conoscere il mondo e me stessa. Il mio universo interiore è molto legato a quello esterno e credo di avere un rapporto molto intenso con entrambi.
"Da quando hai chiamato il mio nome e mi hai baciato nel buio, i miei problemi sono diventati arte": sei una
grande amante della filosofia, e cerchi di raccontare storie attraverso una voce soave, in grado di
"sfiorare" morbide melodie e concepire atmosfere dall'anima celestiale. Che cos'è l'amore per
per te? Quanto è importante poterlo condividere attraverso l'arte?
L'amore è una grande parte di me. L'amore è il sentimento più intenso che si possa provare, sia in senso positivo che negativo. Poiché occupa molto spazio dentro di me, mi sembra importante esprimere i sentimenti e i pensieri che provo. Quando mi esprimo attraverso la musica e l'arte, sento di ottenere una maggiore comprensione.
La speranza e la conoscenza, concetti ben espressi nella tua musica pop dai toni elettronici, potrebbero trascinarci verso una società più inclusiva e a misura d'uomo?
Credo che la musica e l'arte siano uno strumento importante per cambiare la società. Nel corso della storia è
spesso stato così. Spero di poter contribuire al raggiungimento di una società inclusiva e a misura d'uomo.
Sei cresciuta alle Isole Faroe, quanto ti sei sentita piccola in un mondo così grande e lontano? E
quanto la curiosità ti ha spinto a voler dare sempre di più nella vita e nella tua carriera artistica?
Quando ero bambina non mi rendevo conto che le Isole Faroe fossero così piccole, ma crescendo ho scoperto quanto fosse grande il mondo. Non credo di essermi sentita piccola, ma più connessa al mondo che distante.
La curiosità mi ha spinto molto lontano. È la ragione principale che mi spinge a esplorare ed esprimermi artisticamente.
Hai qualche oggetto, disco o libro che porterai sempre con te in questo lungo viaggio di esplorazione e conoscenza?
Non credo di avere oggetti specifici, ma porterò sempre con me le impressioni più importanti e stimolanti che ho sperimentato nel corso della mia vita, attraverso il viaggio di esplorazione e conoscenza.
Come immagini Frum in un futuro non troppo distante?
Ci sto lavorando, quindi non ho una risposta chiara, ma cercherò sempre di fare qualcosa di nuovo.

Frum, stage name of Jenný Jónsdóttir Kragesteen, is a project about music, film and bodily expressiveness. The Danish artist immediately won over her home country, the Faroe Islands, with her first track released in 2016 and quickly attracted considerable international interest, managing to perform in China and participate in the SPOT Festival in Denmark as well as the Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, where she was nominated for the renowned Anchor Award.
Her debut album, "For The Blue Sky," was released on September 23, 2022. A seductive, visionary and melancholy record. Reflections of his philosophical studies can be found in her lyrics: concepts of love, acceptance, hope and the search for incomprehensible spaces. The humility of these thoughts adds a deep poetic dimension, ready to embrace the ups and downs of daily life in order to grasp, as soon as possible, the meaning of one's existence.

Hello and welcome to T-Mag. I'd like to start with: "For The Blue sky," the title of your new album.
Are there limits in your music or do you think it should flow naturally to the infinite sky?
I think there are no limits in my music, I am always ready to explore, try new things and flow toward the infinite sky.
"Universe," what does this word of many interpretations mean to you and how much of it is in your songs?
I think it means something that we are all part of, but not in control of. I use the universe in my music and in life in general. I am very fascinated by this big thing that we are we are all connected to.
How important is it to go further and learn more and more about the world around us to better understand ourselves and our own harmony? And what is your relationship with the inner universe?
I think it is essential for me to push myself further and learn about the world and myself. My inner universe is very connected to my outer universe, and I think I have a very intense relationship with both.
"Ever since you called my name and kissed me in the dark, my problems have become art": you are a
great lover of philosophy, and you try to tell stories through a suave voice that can "skim" soft melodies and conceive atmospheres with a heavenly soul. What is love for you? How important is it to be able to share it through art?
Love is a big part of me. Love is the most intense feeling one can experience, both in a positive and negative sense. Because it takes up a lot of space inside me, I feel it is important to express the feelings and thoughts I have. When I express myself through music and art, I feel I gain more understanding.
Could hope and knowledge, concepts well expressed in your electronic-tinged pop music, drag us toward a more inclusive and human-scale society?
I believe that music and art are an important tool for changing society. Throughout history it has
often been the case. I hope to contribute to an inclusive and human-scale society.
You grew up in the Faroe Islands, how small did you feel in a world so big and far away?
How much did curiosity drive you to want to give more and more in life and in your artistic career?
When I was a child I didn't realize that the Faroe Islands were so small, but as I grew up I discovered how big the world was. I don't think I felt small, but more connected to the world than distant. Curiosity pushed me very far away. It is the main reason that drives me to explore and express myself artistically.
Do you have any objects, records or books that you will always carry with you on this long journey of exploration and knowledge?
I don't think I have any specific objects, but I will always carry with me the most important and inspiring impressions that I have experienced throughout my life through the journey of exploration and knowledge.
How do you envision Frum in the not-too-distant future?
I'm working on it, so I don't have a clear answer, but I will always try to do something new.
