Innervisions: un insieme di visioni introspettive e latenti - necessariamente sconfinate - che, da tempo, risvegliano il nostro essere autentico e impetuoso, trasformando una semplice realtà tangibile in una primordiale manifestazione dell’universo interiore.
Frank Wiedemann e Kristian Beyer, in arte Âme, assieme all’eclettico dj tedesco Dixon, decisero di unire le loro idee e sensazioni, oltre15 anni fa, per dar vita a quel che sarà un’entità dinamica e multiforme: una label che ha rivoluzionato e plasmato il modo di fare musica da club, ha dato spazio alle emozioni, alle provocazioni, alla vera essenza dell’anima, dimenticando il futile materialismo nonché la finta e impalpabile apparenza.
Innervisions tornerà al Poble Espanyol, il 19 Giugno, come parte di OFFSónar 2022; noi di T-Mag saremo lì per vivere e raccontare quella che si prospetta una pura esperienza ascetica.
Per l’occasione, abbiamo fatto due chiacchiere con Kristian, il quale ci ha confidato quanto sia importante rimanere sempre curiosi e pronti a conoscere nuove culture.
Ciao Kristian Beyer, benvenuto su T-Mag. È un piacere averti qui con noi.
Vorrei iniziare con la vostra creatura sonora: Innervisions, un'etichetta in grado di comprendere e raccontare la vostra - e la nostra - realtà più intima. Com'è stato il vostro primo incontro con Dixon e quando è nata l'idea di voler dar vita a un'etichetta del genere?
Abbiamo incontrato Dixon in occasione di un concerto per dj nel sud della Germania nei primissimi anni 2000. Fin dall'inizio abbiamo condiviso gusti e visioni comuni e da lì è nata la nostra amicizia. Lo scambio tra Berlino e Karlsruhe, dove vivevamo in quel periodo, divenne sempre più regolare. Dixon è stato il primo a pubblicare la nostra musica e dopo un po' abbiamo fondato insieme l'etichetta sotto l'ala dei Jazzanova. Dopo poco tempo è diventato chiaro che dovevamo diventare però indipendenti, perché avevamo in mente qualcosa di molto diverso da loro.
Innervisions: un insieme di visioni che suscitano sentimenti e generano sempre nuovi pensieri, esteriorizzati e trasformati in arte. Qual è secondo te il rapporto tra realtà interiore e realtà esteriore?
Credo che creazioni ed espressioni provengano dall’interno: sia che si abbia una visione chiara o che sia solo una forte sensazione interiore, l'azione è innescata da una posizione personale, che alla fine forma la nostra realtà esterna, che, ancora una volta, è percepita da una prospettiva personale interiore.
La vostra etichetta si presenta come un viaggio "cosmico", un lungo percorso dinamico e imprevedibile, un contenitore di sfumature raccolte da tutto il pianeta. Quanto è importante viaggiare per scoprire se stessi e quindi gli altri?
Credo che la cosa più importante sia rimanere curiosi. Forse, occorre ricevere costantemente impressioni da culture e città diverse e imparare da queste esperienze aiuta a rimanere tali.
L'arte è un grande movimento che può includere e racchiudere tutte le diversità esistenti. Nella società di oggi, sempre più divisiva e distante, quanto senti di poter cambiare o influenzare le persone attraverso la sua musica?
Non posso capire o misurare quanto io possa influenzare il pubblico, non penso questo sia il mio compito, ma percepisco quanto la musica sia vitale e curativa, quando questa aiuta noi esseri umani a unirci e distruggere le barriere.
Quanto sono stati importanti questi due lunghi anni per stare da soli con se stessi ed esplorare sempre di più la propria interiorità? E quanto è importante, allo stesso tempo, tornare a esibirsi dal vivo per comunicare con il proprio pubblico?
Sebbene la situazione sia stata stressante, con la ristrutturazione, l'adattamento e la ricerca di soluzioni per far sopravvivere le nostre attività, personalmente è stata un'esperienza più salutare e soddisfacente di quanto avrei immaginato. Allo stesso tempo, tornare in tour è una sfida, ma anche una grande soddisfazione, perché finalmente rivedo gli amici e ho la possibilità di fare il lavoro che amo.
OFFSónar è un grande evento annuale europeo che accoglie clubbers da tutto il mondo. Come avete scelto la line-up di quest'anno e cosa vi aspettate dall'evento del 19 giugno, che si terrà al Poble Espanyol?
Cerchiamo sempre di mantenere il nostro lavoro eccitante per noi stessi e speriamo lo sia anche per le persone che si divertono con noi. Abbiamo cercato di far diventare quello di quest’anno un party sempre più aperto, superando i confini della nostra musica House, sia che si tratti di techno da un lato o di musica dal vivo dall’altro. Da anni vogliamo anche riflettere meglio la nostra cultura eterogenea nelle nostre attività e nelle line-up dei nostri eventi. Non vediamo l'ora di organizzare il nostro migliore evento OffSonar.
Come immagini il futuro di Innervisions? Avete avuto qualche nuova visione che vorreste assolutamente realizzare?
Con Innervisions abbiamo affrontato la stessa e “nuova” sfida quando abbiamo fondato l'etichetta: mantenerla eccitante per noi e sperare di trovare una rilevanza nel mondo della musica di oggi. Riteniamo che, nell'attuale accelerazione del ritmo di consumo, il formato dell'album abbia la forza di distaccarci da un ambiente frenetico e quindi di concentrarci sul formato impegnativo, ma gratificante, dei long player di artisti che meritano davvero la nostra attenzione, molto più a lungo di un frammento sui social media.
Non voglio giudicare, ma sento che c’è bisogno di equilibrio e abbiamo lo spazio necessario per raggiungerlo.

Innervisions: a set of introspective and latent visions -necessarily boundless- that have long awakened our authentic and impetuous being, transforming a simple tangible reality into a primordial manifestation of the inner universe.
Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer, aka Âme, together with the eclectic German DJ Dixon, more than 15 years ago decided to unite their ideas and sensations to give birth to what will be a dynamic and multifaceted entity: a label that revolutionized and shaped the way of making club music, gave space to emotions, provocations, the true essence of the soul, forgetting futile materialism as well as the fake and impalpable appearance.
Innervisions returns to Poble Espanyol, on June 19th, as part of OFFSónar 2022 and we at T-Mag will be there we are looking forward to living and telling about this pure and ascetic experience.
For the occasion, we had a chat with Kristian, who confided in us about how important it is to always remain curious and ready to learn about new cultures.
Hello and welcome to T-Mag, it is a pleasure to have you here with us.
I would like to start with your sound creature: Innervisions, a label that can understand and tell your - and our - most intimate reality. How was your first meeting and when did the idea of wanting to create such a label appear in your mind?
We met Dixon on a Dj Gig in southern Germany in the very early 2000s. From the beginning, we shared a common taste and vision and from there, our friendship started. The exchange between Berlin and Karlsruhe where we lived around that time became more and more regular. Dixon was the first who released our music and then after a while, we started the label together under the wing of the Jazzanova Guys. It also became clear after a short time that we needed to become independent as we had something different in mind than theirs.
Innervisions: a set of visions that arouse feelings and generate constant new thoughts, transformed into art. What do you think is the relationship between inner reality and outer reality?
I believe a creation or expression is coming from the inside. whether you have a clear vision or just a strong inner feeling, the action is triggered from a personal stance, that eventually forms our outer reality. which again is also perceived from an inner personal perspective.
Your label looks like a "cosmic" journey, a long dynamic, and unpredictable path, a container of nuances gathered from all over the planet. How important is it to travel in order to discover oneself and therefore each other?
I think most importantly you stay curious. maybe getting different impressions from different cultures and cities and learning from these experiences helps stay curious.
Art is a great movement that can include and encompass all the diversity that exists. In today's increasingly divisive and distant society, how capable do you feel you can change or influencing people through your music?
I can't comprehend or measure and don't believe that this is a task that I have. but I do feel how vital and healing music is when helping us humans to unify.
How important were these two long years to be alone with oneself and to explore more and more of one's inner self? And how important is it, at the same time, to return to live performance to communicate with one's audience?
Although the situation was stressful, reshaping, adapting, and finding solutions to have our businesses survive, personally it was a more healthy and fulfilling experience than i would have imagined. more time with my family and more sleep.
At the same time, coming back to touring is both challenging, but also very satisfying, finally seeing friends again and having the chance to work the job that I love.
OFFSónar, a major European annual event that welcomes clubbers from all over the world. How did you choose this year's lineup and what do you expect from the June 19 event, which will be held in Poble Espanyol?
We always seek to keep our work exciting for ourselves, and hopefully reach people that enjoy our excitement with us. This year again, we've sought to create a more open party, by going over the edges of our House music realm whether it's techno on the one hand or more live music on another.
For years we have also wanted to become better at reflecting our diverse culture in our businesses and the line-ups of our own event productions. I really looking forward to hopefully our best OffSonar event yet.
How do you imagine the future of Innervisions? Have you had any new visions that you would definitely like to make real?
With Innervisions, we face the same and new challenge when starting the label. keep it exciting for us and hopefully find relevance in today's music world.
We feel that in today's accelerating pace of consumption the album format has the strength to detach us from a hectic environment and therefore focus on the challenging, yet rewarding long-player format from artists that truly deserve our attention much longer than a social media snippet. which I don't want to judge, but feel that there's space and a need for a balance.
