Tim Walker dirige Salvia nel video di "One" di Hercules & Love Affair e ANOHNI
"One", la canzone più trascinante ed esplosiva del nuovo album di Hercules & Love Affair "In Amber", ha incontrato le immagini sublimemente poetiche del singolare artista e fotografo Tim Walker.
Il brano è interpretato da Salvia, una creatrice visionaria che negli ultimi anni ha influenzato il mondo della moda e dell'arte.
In mezzo a un tesoro di terra grezza, costellato di oggetti di memoria e significato, l'emergere di un personaggio naturale e feroce è al centro della scena. Con riferimenti agli affascinanti e dettagliati dipinti degli angeli canterini di Jan Van Eyck, Salvia si rallegra della propria nascita, emergendo in una forza potente e dominante - prendendo tutte le cose per le redini e assumendo successivamente il proprio regno.
ANOHNI ci racconta- "'One' è una canzone che Andy e io abbiamo scritto per celebrare il vigore della sopravvivenza come grido di battaglia eco-femminile. Abbiamo scritto il testo insieme, analizzando le nostre storie. In certi momenti, soprattutto da bambini, entrambi abbiamo lottato duramente per sopravvivere."
"No More Dying" in senso figurato (e letterale) è proclamato come una sfida e una minaccia furiosa a coloro che cercano di schiacciare l'innocenza.
Salvia, di una generazione più giovane che ha esplorato ferocemente l'identità moderna, era il canale perfetto per la canzone e il video. Quando Tim Walker ci ha confermato che Salvia era disponibile a collaborare, siamo stati entusiasti.
Per Hercules and Love Affair, un progetto che fin dall'inizio ha cercato di esprimere la libertà d'espressione queer disinibita, questo video rappresenta il coronamento di un percorso. "E ne sono molto grato" aggiunge.

Salvia aggiunge - "Sono stato subito entusiasta di questo progetto quando Tim me ne ha parlato. Prima di ascoltare la canzone ero disposta a recitare qualsiasi cosa per il video, perché amavo tutte le persone coinvolte. Ma quando ho sentito la canzone e mi ci sono immedesimata così tanto, ho capito che sarei stata in grado di incanalare la mia esperienza e le mie emozioni in quello che avrei fatto, piuttosto che recitare la storia di qualcun altro. Quindi il video mi sembra molto naturale e personale, anche se si tratta del progetto di qualcun altro".

‘One’ the most driving and explosive song on the new Hercules & Love Affair album ‘In Amber’ has been met with the sublimely poetic visuals of the singular artist and photographer Tim Walker. It stars Salvia, a visionary creator who has in recent years impacted both the fashion and art worlds.
Set amidst a treasure trove of raw earth, peppered with objects of memory and meaning, the emergence of a natural and ferocious character takes center stage. With references to the haunting detailed paintings of Jan Van Eyck’s singing angels, Salvia revels in her own birth, emerging into a powerful and dominating force - taking all things by their reins, and subsequently assuming her own reign.
In ANOHNI’s words - “‘One’ is a song Andy and I wrote to celebrate the vigour of survival as an eco-femme battle cry. We wrote the lyrics together, pouring through our histories. At certain points, especially as kids, we both fought hard to survive. "No More Dying" in a figurative (and literal sense) is proclaimed as a dare and a raging threat to those who seek to crush empowered innocence. Salvia, the vanguard of a younger generation who has fiercely explored modern identity, was the perfect channel for the song and the video. When Tim Walker confirmed that Salvia was open to collaborate, we were thrilled.
For Hercules and Love Affair, a project that since the beginning has sought to express uninhibited queer freedom of expression, this video feels like a crowning achievement. And I am so grateful."

Salvia - “"I was immediately excited about this project when Tim told me about it. Before I heard the song I was open to acting out anything for the video ,because I loved everyone involved. But when I heard the song, and I connected with it so much, I realised I would be able to channel my own experience and emotions into what I gave rather than just performing someone else’s story. So the video feels very natural and personal to me, even though it’s someone else’s project.”
