La nu-disco vintage di Todd Terje torna a Milano
Ironico, sfrontato e coinvolgente, Todd Terje è uno di quei nomi che fa sempre piacere trovare scritto nel cartellone di un festival o nel programma di un locale della propria città. Fortunatamente per noi, il tastierista, produttore e Dj scandinavo ci terrà compagnia in questa calda estate in più di un’occasione: Todd infatti si esibirà il 17 giugno nell’open-air estivo del Circolo Magnolia di Milano e qualche mese dopo farà parte del ricco cartellone di Spring Attitude.
Chi avrà la fortuna di ascoltarlo dal vivo, non rimarrà deluso dal turbinio di synth, vocal e percussioni che Todd Terje porta con sé sul palco. Ovviamente il tutto è accompagnato dall’estetica vintage che dal suo look si propaga tutt’intorno, fra una cover di Robert Palmer e gli omaggi alla mitica Delorean di Ritorno al futuro. Un sound energico che alle volte sfiora il no-sense, quello di Terje, che fin dal nome sceglie di omaggiare uno dei mostri sacri della House music: Todd Terry.
Proprio di quel genere musicale, dalla sua vitalità e spensieratezza, il musicista originario di Mjøndalen in Norvegia, cattura l’essenza più festaiola e la rimanda indietro come una cannonata grazie a delle hit che già hanno segnato la storia recente della musica dance. Dopo essersi dedicato per una buona decade a remixare grandi nomi del passato, dagli Chic ai Men At Work, da Dolly Parton a Bryan Ferry, Todd Terje ha poi rilasciato una serie di singoli diventati iconici e poi confluiti nel suo primo, esuberante album “It’s Album Time” (Olsen, 2014).
Tracce come "Inspector Norse”, la salsa nordica di "Svensk Sås” o il demenziale cha-cha di “Alfonso Muskendunder” sono tutt’oggi dei prêt à danser per i Dj di tutto il mondo.
Senza dimenticarci del resto delle collaborazioni di spessore con artisti del peso di Lindstrøm o di Robbie Williams per il singolo ultra-pop “Candy” che hanno contribuito a fargli scalare le classifiche dance e non di mezzo mondo e a farlo inserire dal The Guardian nella lista dei migliori 10 Dj scandinavi.
Insomma, spettacolo e divertimento assicurati al Circolo Magnolia anche grazie all’apporto di un altro amante dei suoni calienti e retrò, Bugsy che si alternerà a Todd Terje in console.

Ironic, bold, and engaging, Todd Terje is one of those names that is always nice to find written on the billboard of a festival or in the program of a local club in our city. Fortunately for us, the keyboardist, producer, and Scandinavian DJ will keep us company in this hot summer on more than one occasion: Todd in fact will perform on June 17 in the open-summer air of the Circolo Magnolia in Milan and a few months later will be part of the rich program of Spring Attitude.
Those lucky enough to hear it live will not be disappointed by the flurry of synths, vocals, and percussion that Todd Terje brings with him on stage. Obviously, everything is accompanied by vintage aesthetics that from his look spreads all around, between a cover of Robert Palmer and the tributes to the legendary Delorean of Back to the Future. An energetic sound that sometimes touches the no-sense, that of Terje, that since the name chooses to pay homage to one of the sacred monsters of the House music: Todd Terry.
Of that kind of music, with its vitality and lightheartedness, the musician originally from Mjøndalen in Norway captures the most festive essence and sends it back like a cannonade thanks to the hits that have already marked the recent history of dance music. After having dedicated himself for a good decade to remixing great names of the past, from Chic to Men At Work, from Dolly Parton to Bryan Ferry, Todd Terje then released a series of iconic singles and then merged into his first, exuberant album "It’s Album
Time" (Olsen, 2014).
