t-mag UNCOVERS: OFFSÓNAR
L'attesa è finalmente finita… o quasi. Insomma giorni alla mano: ormai ci siamo! OFFSónar, è alle porte. Uno dei festival musicali più eclettici e stimolanti d’Europa, sta per tornare, sempre al fianco di suo fratello Sónar Festival, con un’edizione che si preannuncia indimenticabile. Perché? Beh, il festival spegne ben trenta candeline quest’anno. Ed un traguardo del genere, merita d’essere festeggiato in pieno stile Sónar.
OFFSónar non è solo una rassegna di eventi durante ‘la-settimana-più-elettronica-di-sempre’ ma è una celebrazione senza precedenti.
Ma una celebrazione di cosa, esattamente? In primis è un’ode alla musica elettronica nelle sue varie sfaccettature, ma anche e soprattuto alla club culture inteso come fenomeno sociocultural-politico e a tutti coloro che la abitano: clubbers e addetti ai lavori che da tutta Europa accorrono per danzare tra le vie di Barcellona.
Da anni infatti, OFFSónar è il punto di riferimento per gli amanti della musica elettronica e un punto da raggiungere per chi vorrebbe fare dell’organizzazione di eventi, il proprio lavoro.
Il festival, itinerante tra varie location, vanta un ricco patrimonio di eventi che spaziano tra artisti di fama internazionale ed emergenti, con il comune denominatore di essere avvolti da un’atmosfera unica. L’organizzazione ogni anno, lavora duramente per assicurare una lineup di artisti di altissimo livello in grado di abbracciare tutti i generi: le parole d’ordine sono diversità, arte e tecnologia. Dal 15 al 18 giugno 2023, Barcellona sarà quindi trasformata in un immenso palcoscenico: una line up prettamente elettronica sarà il file conduttore di tutto il festival, col fine di omaggiare dunque la club culture, il ruolo del DJ come figura culturale simbolo dei nostri tempi e dove artisti emblematici – coloro che sono cresciuti di pari passo con Sónar – e alcuni tra i nomi più importanti della scena mondiale, potranno esibirsi nel pieno della loro libertà espressiva.
Ma in cosa si differenzia da Sónar? OFFSónar, riunisce etichette discografiche, artisti e iconici promoter di eventi europei, riuscendo a rimanere costantemente al passo con l'attuale panorama della musica elettronica.
Anche quest’anno OFF Sónar prenderà vita in diverse venue, ma la grande novità per l’edizione 2023 è che Brunch Electronik e OFFSónar Festival uniranno le forze per la prima volta per portare Brunch Electronik in tutto il Poble Espanyol.
Oppure daranno la possibilità di passare direttamente da Diynamic x OFFSónar a Sónar by Night con Eric Prydz presents HOLO, Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens e Angel Molina sabato 17 giugno. Ovviamente, non mancherà all’appello il Poble Espanyol, un museo architettonico all'aperto situato sui gradini della montagna di Montjuïc che domina Barcellona. Con ampie piazze, belvedere panoramici, vicoli intimi e verde lussureggiante, offre una varietà di esperienze nelle sue tre sedi.
Quali saranno i principali protagonisti? t-mag ci sarà per raccontarveli, ma intanto ecco per voi un elenco di tutto ciò che sarà un must-dance.
Giovedì 15, si taglierà la linea del via e ogni spazio sarà caratterizzato da un proprio tocco di originalità e riconoscibilità, apportato dai singoli promotori.
Circoloco tornerà sul palco di Plaza Mayor con DJ Tennis, Carlita, Seth Troxler e altri; la serie di party Lost in a Moment, affiliata a Innervisions, tornerà a Monasterio, mentre Carpa Picnic offrirà un ambiente perfetto per un’altra grande novità di questa edizione: UNREAL made in Colonia, che scateneranno la loro creatività con Clara Cuve, Johannes Schuster, Klangkuenstler e Kobosil.
Venerdì 16, il Brunch Electronik occuperà tutti e tre i palchi con le performance di Ann Clue, Boris Brejcha, Gerd Janson B2B Jennifer Cardini, Jan Blomqvist, Miss Monique e tanti altri artisti che potrete scoprire qui.
A seguire, sabato 17, la Diynamic di Solomun sarà al centro del festival con una presa di posizione su tutti e tre i palchi del Poble Espanyol per un massiccio showcase di etichette con Adriatique, Rampa, &ME, Adam Port e… come si dice? And more, and more and more.
Per il gran finale di domenica 18, Elrow prende il comando della consolle con un triplo takeover: il marchio presenta "Delusionville", una reinterpretazione dal vivo del famoso movimento artistico POPaganda, frutto dell'immaginazione del noto "Padrino della Street Art", Ron English.

The wait is finally over... or almost over. Days in hand: this is it! OFFSónar is just around the corner. One of Europe's most eclectic and stimulating music festivals is about to return, alongside its brother Sónar Festival, with an edition that promises to be unforgettable. Why? Well, the festival blows out no less than thirty candles this year. And such a milestone deserves to be celebrated in true Sónar style.
OFFSónar is not just a review of events during 'the-most-electronic-week-ever' but an unprecedented celebration.
But a celebration of what, exactly? First and foremost, it is an ode to electronic music in its various facets but also to club culture as a socio-cultural-political phenomenon and to all those who inhabit it: clubbers and insiders who flock from all over Europe to dance through the streets of Barcelona.
In fact, for years, OFFSónar has been a point of reference for electronic music lovers and an end to reach for those who would like to make event organization their business.
The festival, which is itinerant among various locations, boasts a rich heritage of events ranging from internationally renowned artists to emerging ones, with the common denominator of being enveloped in a unique atmosphere. Every year, the organization works hard to ensure a line-up of top-notch artists spanning all genres: the watchwords are diversity, art, and technology.
From 15 to 18 June 2023, Barcelona will be transformed into a big stage. A purely electronic line-up will be the common thread running through the entire festival, thus paying homage to club culture, the role of the DJ as a cultural figure symbolizing our times, and where emblematic artists - those who have grown up alongside Sónar - and some of the biggest names on the world scene will be able to perform in the fullness of their expressive freedom.
But how does it differ from Sónar? OFFSónar brings together record labels, artists, and iconic European event promoters, managing to stay constantly abreast of the current electronic music scene.
This year OFF Sónar will once again come to life in different venues. Still, the big news for the 2023 edition is that Brunch Electronik and OFFSónar Festival will join forces for the first time to bring Brunch Electronik to the entire Poble Espanyol.
Or they will allow going straight from Diynamic x OFFSónar to Sónar by Night with Eric Prydz presents HOLO, Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, and Angel Molina on Saturday, 17 June.
Of course, the Poble Espanyol, an open-air architectural museum on the steps of the Montjuïc mountain overlooking Barcelona, will not be missing. With large squares, panoramic viewpoints, intimate alleys, and lush greenery, it offers a variety of experiences in its three locations.
Who will be the leading players? t-mag will be there to tell you about them, but in the meantime, here is a list of everything that will be a must-dance.
On Thursday, the 15, the starting line will be cut, and each space will be characterized by its touch of originality and recognisability, contributed by the individual promoters.
Circoloco will return to the Plaza Mayor stage with DJ Tennis, Carlita, Seth Troxler, and others; the party series Lost in a Moment, affiliated with Innervisions, will return to Monasterio, while Carpa Picnic will provide a perfect setting for another great new addition to this edition: UNREAL made in Cologne, who will unleash their creativity with Clara Cuve, Johannes Schuster, Klangkuenstler and Kobosil.
On Friday 16, the Electronik Brunch will occupy all three stages with performances by Ann Clue, Boris Brejcha, Gerd Janson B2B Jennifer Cardini, Jan Blomqvist, Miss Monique, and many other artists you can discover here. (link)
Next up, on Saturday 17, Solomun's Diynamic will be at the heart of the festival with a takeover of all three Poble Espanyol stages for a massive label showcase featuring Adriatique, Rampa, &ME, Adam Port, and... how do you say? And more, and more and more.
For the grand finale on Sunday 18, Elrow takes the lead at the console with a triple takeover: the label presents 'Delusionville,' a live reinterpretation of the famous POPaganda art movement, a figment of the imagination of the well-known 'Godfather of Street Art,' Ron English.
