Il programma di Sónar+D svelato a due settimane dall'inizio di Sónar Lisboa 2023
Sónar+D è l'incontro internazionale di arte, scienza e tecnologia del Sónar Festival, in cui si esplora la creatività come forza trainante del cambiamento nel XXI secolo.
Il 30° anniversario del mitico Sónar di Barcellona dà il via alle celebrazioni il 31 marzo, l'1 e il 2 aprile a Lisbona.
Dopo che è stata resa nota la programmazione musicale completa e sono stati rivelati gli orari e le tappe di tutti gli spettacoli del Sónar Lisboa 2023, questa settimana è stato finalmente presentato il programma del Sónar+D.
Si svolgerà all'Estufa Fria, all'interno del Parque Eduardo VII, che sarà il punto di convergenza dell'intero programma del festival.
Optimo Music pubblicherà una compilation di musica anarco-punk.
In uscita a maggio, Cease & Resist - Sonic Subversion & Anarcho Punk In The UK 1979-86, con 18 tracce, è curata da JD Twitch di Optimo e dalla figura dell'anarco-punk Chris Low.
Raccoglie brani di artisti del calibro di Crass, Chumbawamba, The Ex, Poison Girls e The Cravats, tra gli altri. Tutti i profitti della pubblicazione saranno devoluti alla Scottish Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament e al Faslane Peace Camp, in linea con i valori anti-establishment e la natura politica di molti degli artisti presenti nella compilation.
Tresor ristampa l'album iconico di Robert Hood, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2
Robert Hood ristampa uno dei suoi album seminali in occasione del 30° anniversario della sua pubblicazione.
Pubblicato nel 1993 con lo pseudonimo di The Vision, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 uscì lo stesso anno in cui Hood lasciò la sua città natale, Detroit, per trasferirsi a New York con il cofondatore di Underground Resistance Jeff Mills. L'album incanala la techno grezza che presto sarebbe diventata la firma sonora di Hood. L'album verrà ristampato il 26 maggio via Tresor.
Nelle note di copertina, Hood dedica Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 "alla forma della semplicità, al ragionamento della visione, alla comprensione di dove siamo venuti e come siamo arrivati qui e alla prospettiva che usiamo per costruire il nostro destino”.
Ron Morelli pubblicherà un nuovo album, Heart Stopper, sulla sua L.I.E.S Records.
Il fondatore della L.I.E.S. Records, Ron Morelli, torna alle sue radici di musica house e fa una rara apparizione sulla sua etichetta, con il suo atteso doppio LP, Heart Stopper (LIES-200).
Riallacciandosi agli inizi della sua etichetta, Heart Stopper è una rielaborazione contemporanea dei suoni fondamentali della musica house originale di Chicago, New York e Detroit e si rifà al lavoro che artisti come Morelli, Delroy Edwards, Steve Summers e Traxx hanno svolto durante gli anni formativi dell’etichetta.
Nel mondo sempre mutevole della musica elettronica contemporanea, Heart Stopper colpisce il centro emotivo del genere, che spesso viene trascurato. Questa è musica da club cruda, sentita e senza filtri. A volte edificante, a volte pensierosa.
Queste 11 tracce sono chiaramente la dichiarazione definitiva di Morelli sulla musica dance: Heart Stopper rappresenta ciò che è venuto prima e ciò che deve ancora venire. Un lavoro accuratamente realizzato che pone saldamente la firma di L.I.E.S. sul passato, sul presente e sul futuro della musica.
I Radiohead pubblicheranno nuova musica nei prossimi anni.
Philip Selway, il batterista dei Radiohead, ha rivelato che la band si riunirà per lavorare su nuovo materiale "di qualche tipo" nei "prossimi due anni". All'inizio dell'anno, Selway ha parlato della sua band in formazione, rivelando che avevano intenzione di incontrarsi quest'anno per discutere i loro prossimi passi.
"Ci riuniremo all'inizio del [2023] e sono sicuro che inizieremo a considerare altre idee per il futuro", ha detto
a gennaio.
"Quando è scoppiata la pandemia, avevamo programmato di deviare rispetto ai Radiohead, in modo da poter andare avanti con altre cose. Ma questo ha significato solo che quegli altri progetti sono cresciuti, quindi stiamo concedendo il tempo a tutti quei progetti di arrivare dove devono. Ma sì, ci riuniremo presto e nei prossimi due anni ci sarà qualcosa di qualche tipo", ha poi aggiunto.

The Sónar+D program was unveiled two weeks before the start of Sónar Lisboa 2023
Sónar+D is the Sónar Festival's international gathering of art, science, and technology, exploring creativity as a driving force for change in the 21st century.
The 30th anniversary of the legendary Sónar in Barcelona kicks off the celebrations on 31 March, 1 and 2 April in Lisbon.
After the complete music program was released and the timetables and stages of all the shows of Sónar Lisboa 2023 were revealed, the program of Sónar+D was finally presented this week.
The convergence point for the entire festival program will occur at the Estufa Fria, inside the Parque Eduardo VII.
Optimo Music will release a compilation of anarcho-punk music.
Due out in May, Cease & Resist - Sonic Subversion & Anarcho Punk In The UK 1979-86, featuring 18 tracks, is curated by Optimo's JD Twitch and anarcho-punk figure Chris Low.

Tresor reissues Robert Hood's iconic album Waveform Transmission Vol. 2
Robert Hood reissues one of his seminal albums on the 30th anniversary of its release.
Released in 1993 under the pseudonym The Vision, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 was released the same year Hood left his hometown of Detroit to move to New York with Underground Resistance co-founder Jeff Mills. The album channels the raw techno that would soon become Hood's signature sound. The album will be reissued on 26 May via Tresor.
In the liner notes, Hood dedicates Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 "to the form of simplicity, the reasoning of vision, the understanding of where we came from and how we got here, and the perspective we use to construct our destiny.”
Ron Morelli will release a new album, Heart Stopper, on his own L.I.E.S Records.
L.I.E.S. Records founder Ron Morelli is returning to his house music roots and making a rare appearance on his label with his long-awaited double LP, Heart Stopper (LIES-200).
Harking back to the beginnings of his label, Heart Stopper is a contemporary reworking of the core sounds of original house music from Chicago, New York, and Detroit. It draws on the work of artists such as Morelli, Delroy Edwards, Steve Summers, and Traxx during the label's formative years.
In the ever-changing world of contemporary electronic music, Heart Stopper strikes at the emotional core of the genre, which is often overlooked. This is raw, heartfelt, unfiltered club music. They are sometimes uplifting, sometimes pensive.
These 11 tracks are Morelli's definitive statement on dance music: Heart Stopper represents what has come before and what is yet to come. A carefully crafted work that firmly places L.I.E.S.'s signature on the past, present, and future of music.
Radiohead will be releasing new music in the coming years.
Philip Selway, Radiohead's drummer, revealed that the band would reunite to work on new material 'of some kind' in the 'next couple of years.’ Earlier this year, Selway spoke about his band in the making, revealing that they planned to meet to discuss their next steps.
"We'll get together in early [2023], and I'm sure we'll start looking at other ideas for the future," he said
in January.
"When the pandemic broke out, we had planned to deviate from Radiohead to get on with other things. But that only meant those other projects grew, so we're giving them time to get where they need to be. But yeah, we'll get together soon, and in the next couple of years, there will be something of some kind,' he added.
