Chi è Claire Fontaine?
Claire Fontaine è un collettivo artistico fondato nel 2004 a Parigi da James Thornhill e Fulvia Carnevale e dal 2017 ha sede a Palermo. Il nome del collettivo deriva da un famoso marchio francese di cancelleria. Ispirato alla 'Fontana' di Marcel Duchamp, il collettivo sottolinea una pratica neo-concettuale, sfidando l'autorialità e rielaborando icone popolari. Definitosi 'artisti ready-made,' enfatizza l'importanza della cooperazione rispetto al genio individuale. Esplorando la realtà come punto focale del loro lavoro, utilizzano vari media, in particolare installazioni luminose tratte dal linguaggio delle insegne stradali e fotografie che risuonano fortemente negli spazi pubblici e nella vita quotidiana.
