Standards of Living è l’ultimo album di Fabrizio Vatieri uscito sull'etichetta Union Editions.
Un’esecuzione articolata dentro una “scatola” che simboleggia una condizione “abitativa” che plasma essenza ed esistenza. Una struttura “architettonica” che lega stili di vita ad un’interpretazione acustica dai toni misurati, equilibrati.
Standard of Living registrato tra Napoli, Milano e Lussemburgo, sembra essere l’astrazione immaginifica ed editoriale di un progetto che prende vita in un luogo ben definito, essenziale negli spazi e nelle linee, che determina pareti e profondità, protegge aperture e altezze che si espandono tra senso e ragionate perimetrie.
Un’opera verticale, robusta, che si costruisce nelle curve di un suono ambrato proseguendo nei desideri avvolti dalla conciliazione di pensieri apparentemente sgretolati; frammenti che si aprono poi a finzioni evocative e immateriali.
L’elemento acustico assume una corporalità eloquente e suggestiva, corrisponde alla morbidezza che fugge alla uniformità e sembra rifugiarsi nelle rughe di uno scontro, aprendosi al confronto, alla parola, al dialogo tra materia e atmosfera.
Standards of Living è un piano-sequenza che si scandisce tra lo stacco di un brano e l’altro, frammentando un unico racconto che sembra rispondere ad un’espressione che interpreta la realtà, ad una narrazione documentaristica.
Registrato tra il 2021 e il 2022, Standards of living è la continuazione di una trilogia; un’analisi che approfondisce la relazione tra l’essere umano e lo spazio che diventa passaggio necessario, vitale, luogo identitario che si incastra tra dovere e piacere e si trasforma in un processo osmotico, in una completa compenetrazione.
Standar of Living trova una sua simmetria in un verso dei Roxy Music, gruppo che ha sperimentato il glam Rock degli anni ’70: “in Every Dream Home a Heartache”: il passaggio tra il sogno e l’angoscia, la ricerca di un ideale paradiso terreno, la condanna del lusso, l’importanza di un “nido”, di una base di andata e ritorno.
Standar of Living di Fabrizio Vatieri è stato presentato per la prima volta live il 25 Novembre a SPRINT Milano ed è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme streaming.
