A BETTER MISTAKE: liberi di esprimersi
Il miglior errore che potevate fare durante l'appena conclusa Milano Fashion Week? Non andare a scoprire la nuova collezione SS23 di A Better Mistake, brand basato a Milano che dal 2020 continua ad attrarci attraverso capi e accessori genderless ma sopratutto sostenibili.
L’ecosostenibilità infatti è uno dei maggiori impegni di ABM (acronimo di A Better Mistake) creando così collezioni realizzate al 90% da tessuti forniti nel Nord Italia - minori spostamenti = minor consumo - e sopratutto l’attenta collaborazione con la scienza e la tecnologia per un minor impatto sull’ambiente.
Non mi capacito del perché sia ancora fortemente radicato il concetto “eco-sostenibile = brutto” o addirittura l’associazione dell’eco-sostenibilità a prodotti super basic, dai colori pastello o da Mercato Equo-solidale (probabilmente della mia e della precedente generazione, n.d.r.); altroché, qui parliamo di una collazione eco-sostenibile ma che spacca. Nel vero senso della parola.
“Eternal” è il titolo della collezione ss23 di ABM che prende vita attraverso una presentazione performance di ballerini provenienti dal teatro La Scala di Milano; il voguing e la techno si uniscono, emanando tutto l’interesse e la serietà che la label ha per le identità.
Le stampe Eternal & Hero, create dall’artista Running File, prendono vita su giacche trapuntate, camicie di seta e felpe; immancabile il look pigiama, best seller del marchio, presentato con nuovi tessuti e con il monogramma “Chrome”.
La primavera/estate di ABM segna quindi l’introduzione della “Artist Collection” ovvero la collaborazione con artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo per la realizzazione di capi da esposizione, come quella con The End is Near, brand indipendente basato a Londra, che per l’occasione ha realizzato un abito ed una maschera completamente handmade.
Le dj Berlinesi Alva e Raven si esibiscono in una capsula di vetro, generando una techno tribale in grado di trasportarci da Milano a Berlino con estrema facilità: Alter Dimension è l’installazione di cui fanno parte, che interagisce attraverso una costruzione di schermi e l’improvvisazione dei ballerini.

Spyros Rennt e il suo occhio analogico hanno documentato lo “spettacolo sperimentale” che, come previsto dal Creative Director Mad_inc e dal regista Byron Rosero, presto diventerà un film.

A BETTER MISTAKE: free to express yourself
The best mistake you could have made during the just finished Milan Fashion Week?
Not going to discover the new SS23 collection of A Better Mistake, a Milan-based brand that has been attracting us with genderless but above all sustainable garments and accessories since 2020.
In fact, eco-sustainability is one of ABM's (an acronym for A Better Mistake) major commitments, thus creating collections that are 90% made from fabrics supplied in Northern Italy - less travel = less consumption - and above all the careful collaboration with science and technology for a lower impact on the environment.
I don't understand why the concept of 'eco-sustainable = ugly' or even the association of eco-sustainability with super basic, pastel-coloured or Fairtrade products (probably from my and the previous generation, editor's note) is still strongly rooted; we are talking about an eco-sustainable but kick-ass collection. In the true sense of the word.
"Eternal" is the title of ABM's ss23 collection that comes to life through a performance presentation by dancers from Milan's La Scala theatre; voguing and techno come together, emanating all the interest and seriousness that the label has for identities.
The Eternal & Hero prints, created by artist Running File, come to life on quilted jackets, silk shirts and sweatshirts; the brand's best-selling pyjama look, presented in new fabrics and with the 'Chrome' monogram, is a must.
ABM's spring/summer thus marks the introduction of the 'Artist Collection', i.e. the collaboration with artists from all over the world for the creation of showpieces, such as the one with The End is Near, an independent brand based in London, which for the occasion has created a dress and a mask completely handmade.
Berlin DJs Alva and Raven perform in a glass capsule, generating tribal techno that can transport us from Milan to Berlin with ease: Alter Dimension is the installation they are part of, which interacts through a screen construction and the dancers' improvisation.
